The search is over they feel sturdy and can be cut to desired length. It even has that nice sweet rubber smell when you open it up. Have yet to see if TSA will still require me to take it off despite no metal but we will see. Arrived quickly, now that I have it in my hand I am wishing I bought all 3 and used the savings code the seller has. Lesson learned I like this so much I will be ordering up more so I have some on hand (sometimes the most awesome stuff gets back ordered or cancelled) in case one breaks or gets worn out. People did mention it being difficult getting through belt loops. I didn't have much of a problem but can see it being a little more time consuming than traditional belts. Many shorts now days are made in an amphibious style so you could wear them into a pool or wear them on the street. However, many are lacking and inner drawstring such as you would find on swimming trunks. Therefore, unless the waist fits perfectly you can't exactly use them in the pool or at the beach. Heavier wetter trunks that are loose up top... Imagine the problems. These are great. No metal parts. The only difficulty is threading the belt initially because the silicone can drag across material. When it arrives you will size the belt to your waistline and cut it to the desired length. It is rubber, so any typical scissors will get the job done. You will then reassemble the buckle to hold the newly cut/sized belt. This makes for a perfect fit. Ithe buckle is extremely light weight and does not cut into your stomach if driving/sitting for long periods of time. My only complaint is that over time (2-3 months) the belt holes stretch out due to it being rubber.
