**Q: What is a male tank, or an M2" tank? My home heating oil tank is about 800 litre, about 1.2m high, would this gauge be suitable please?**
A: I’d say no - I bought one of these assuming universal suitability and fit etc etc, but these are calibrated for a much taller tank; it will show change up or down but gauge movements will not be especially stark. I would suggest searching for a gauge with ‘1m’ or ‘3’’ in the description - there are plenty of them on this site. As to male / m2 tank, Google is your friend, I’m afraid I couldn’t answer without googling it myself.

Was perfect drop in replacement for electronic oil Watchman (Matching threads) and short enough to not interfere with oil tank cover. Would be nice to have blank back plate to make your own guage with, as on this tank the guage is from 180cm to 80cm rather than showing 1000L to 0L.
