Review: Full-Time Mechanic — Heavy Use Since January 2025 and Still Going Strong - I'm a full-time mechanic, and we vacuum out each vehicle after we're finished working on it, so this shop vac has gotten some serious use since I bought it in January 2025. This definitely isn't something that sits in the corner of my garage and gets used once a month. After all that use, I honestly don't have any complaints. It hasn't lost suction, hasn't given me any problems, and has never been on the fritz. I've used it for normal dry vacuuming as well as water and other liquid cleanup, and it has handled both well. One thing I really appreciate is the hose length. I can reach all the way to the other side of a vehicle without having to constantly unplug the vacuum and move everything around. The power cord is a good length as well, and it came with the attachments I've needed for the jobs I use it for. For the money, I think this is a great wet/dry shop vac. Mine has seen a lot of professional use and is still working just as it should. Definitely 5 stars from me. Great performance for the price.

A: Just spoke with customer service regarding this question because the clamp ring is loose when you remove the foam filter and only use the reusable blue dry filter. Their response is as follows:  You will need BOTH the foam filter and the reusable filter for dry pickup. Use only the foam filter for wet pickup. If you are switching from wet to dry pickup, then you must let the foam filter air dry completely before moving on to dry pickup. Or, you need to purchase a second foam filter and switch to the dry foam filter before using it to pickup dry material.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Suction, Compact Unit - Great Shop Vac for Heavy Duty Vacuuming Needs

The Stanley Wet/Dry Vacuum is a must have to help keep your garage clean. This little shop vac is a powerhouse when it comes to cleaning. It's small but mighty, and I like how powerful the suction is. The vacuum doesn't require a vacuum bag to use, but can be fitted with one to keep the inner barrel clean and is easier to empty without making a mess. The unit is lightweight, has a long cord so you're not restricted to a small area, and the hose comes with different nozzles so you can use it for vacuuming narrow spaces, wide sections of carpet, or just whatever fits into the existing base nozzle. Initial assembly takes less than five minutes before the unit is ready to go, and as it's stated, it can be used for wet or dry application. I generally use this for vacuuming around my garage, in my car, and outdoors during the fall to catch all those pesky leaves. If you choose to use it for wet applications, it's easy enough to detach the barrel receptacle to empty and rinse clean. Overall, it's a good option if you're looking for a smaller shop vac and something I would purchase again.
