Precisely what I was looking for.

The short and sweet: I'm very glad I bought these. I figured I can pay a little extra to get a little extra; these delivered. In depth: I typically had good luck with the white iPod headphones. They lasted long, were durable, and sounded fine with my music. They finally crapped out when I resumed running longer distances in the summer and I believe the sweat did them in.I'll try to include the issues that were most important to me during my search. I first set out for headphones that would stay in place while I was running. I saw the many conventional styles (around the ears, neck, etc.) but were intrigued by the design of these. They are low profile (except the yellow, but I think that's a cool style of flashy), would stay in place and I could wear them with sunglasses. I then saw they were water-resistent and realized that's a feature I wanted so I narrowed my search based on that.I ended up choosing these over the CX 680 because it was important for me to be able to hear road traffic. I had a set of in-ear headphones and while they delivered better bass, they did reduce some surrounding noise. I can hear road noise just enough to where I'm still alert to what's around me.The sound is clear. It's not muffled and it's not distorted (rock music). The bass isn't great, but it's good. You can feel a beat. The song Phase by Breaking Benjamin has an awesome intro that relies on a bass beat. These handle it very well and it gets me pushing even harder to the beat. The earfins are great! I use the middle size and they don't hurt and they do keep the headphones in place. As for the cable length, it is short. It's designed to be short enough for an arm holder, but it's long enough for me to hold my iPod in my hand while running. I can't, however, walk with my arms down by my side (I'm 5'8"). I haven't used the extension much but it serves its purpose.Everything feels well made. The wires don't seem like they'll easily be pulled out as their design keeps them snug (not like the iPod headphones where the wire is loose) and the rubbery material seems durable. After waterproofing my iPod in a plastic sandwich bag, I took these out in a torrential downpour. It was a classic hot and humid summer thunderstorm and I was thoroughly soaked within seconds. These stayed in place and continued to pump out the the tunes! My only problem was that water would drip between my ear drum and the speaker so it was distorting the sound, like having water in your ears. This may be where an in-ear headphone like the CX 680 would be better, but that's just speculation, and running in a storm like that isn't an everyday thing.Overall, I am very happy with these. I have every reason to believe they will last me many, many miles! Feel free to ask any questions you may have!

    Overpriced.

Pro: Flashy/sporty design. Lifetime warranty. Sweaty resistant.Cons: Earfin is a bad take on Sennheiser's original "Twist-to-fit" system. Soundquality is quite terrible.------------------First of, these headphones look GOOD. The bright yellow and black color scheme is sexy. The build quality is quite good. Very nice attention to little details like the logo of "Sennheiser" on one side of the cable splitter and "Adiddas" on the other. The MX 680 come with many accessories, different sizes of the earfins and the rubber around the earbuds. Foam socks. And the thick and rugged carrying case.I own the MX75 (1st generation of Senn's sport line). I liked the original "twist to fit" system much better, because instead of a sharp "fin", they used round little wheels that roll much nicer against your ears and does not poke. The earfins is very soft and at times does not offer enough stiffness to keep the buds in my ears. When they do, they hurt my ears after just a few minutes (and is distracting)The cable system is quite bad. You may ditch the volume control and just connect to an armband. The problem is, the cable is not long enough when I move my arms running. But if I use the extender with volume control, it is very heavy and adds unwelcome tension to my ears.Sennheiser does give you a clip that you can attach to the cable to keep it from dangling around. THat is totally useless to me because I work out in t-shirts (and I don't know anyone who does not) , there is absolutely no place for it to clip on.SOUNDQUALITY - Okay, these headphones sound TINY and THIN. If you pushed them a bit into your ears they sound fantastic, but that is not feasible while lifting weights, on a bike, or running. So, if you leave them on like normal, they sound no better than stock earbuds that you get from buying any mp3 player. There is literally no base thump. You can hear the beat, but there is no impact. One way to look at this is that music sounds extremely light, and will not become too involving or distracting from your workout. But without any low and mid-low end to balance out the frequencies, the highs just are shrieky. It will sound like your brain is being scraped.Other companies offer headphones at much better values both above and below the price for the MX680, with better comfort and better soundquality. There is no reason to pay so much money for these to replace your stock buds. Except maybe for the looks, but then you should look to other products of the sports range.

Sound quality is great, however size is an issue

I found the sound qualify to be great. The there is no "seal," however I could still hear music and voice fine. Even though there isn't a seal, they stayed in both while lifting weights and while running, except while doing sprints.Aside from fit in the ear, I had to use the extender since I am 6'1. The extender has a clip, but I couldn't use it due to it being at the top of the extender and thus too short.
