The lock is just fine -- I assume its purpose is mostly to keep the cover secured to the bike, which is helpful when it's windy...though the cover also has the great quality of each end being cinched with elastic, so when the wind kicks up it doesn't automatically fly up unless the wind is super strong. So, for a "free" lock, I'd say it's perfectly good quality.For the record, I have no idea why I'm being asked to rate the warmth of the cover. It's black, so if it's in the sun it gets hot. Naturally. Maybe not ideal, but I haven't personally had any issues living in a dry climate in the middle of the summer.
