Review: Works for MacBook Pro M1 Series - This worked connecting to my MacBook Pro M1. From Finder you have to enable CD/DVD drives by checking the box. The external drive only shows up once you insert a CD/DVD into it.
Review: Waste of money and time - Drive is crap. Put a disc in, it showed up on desktop. When I tried to access it, the drive and disc disappear from my iMac screen. Can not get any data to access and when trying a music CD, it just does not play and then disappears from the desktop. I had to unplug and plug in the device a dozen times just to get my last CD out of the damn thing. This is definitely a cheap Apple Superdrive knock off. Do not waste your time. The NOLYTH drive looks similar but it functions completely better and gives me no issues. I bought them both because I need a CD/DVD drive for both of my computers that have external drives going bad and clicking a lot. Will be returning this for another of that other brand. Including screen shot of the details of the drive in my profiler app.

This worked connecting to my MacBook Pro M1. From Finder you have to enable CD/DVD drives by checking the box. The external drive only shows up once you insert a CD/DVD into it.

Drive is crap. Put a disc in, it showed up on desktop. When I tried to access it, the drive and disc disappear from my iMac screen. Can not get any data to access and when trying a music CD, it just does not play and then disappears from the desktop. I had to unplug and plug in the device a dozen times just to get my last CD out of the damn thing. This is definitely a cheap Apple Superdrive knock off. Do not waste your time. The NOLYTH drive looks similar but it functions completely better and gives me no issues. I bought them both because I need a CD/DVD drive for both of my computers that have external drives going bad and clicking a lot. Will be returning this for another of that other brand. Including screen shot of the details of the drive in my profiler app.

This works very well and fits the usb port on my MacBook Air. Obviously portable. I only use it to read discs, so I don't know about storage capacity. And it's pretty.
