The round handle is used for dispensing 100°C boiling water and filtered drinking water. To dispense boiling water, the safety clip must be removed. Then, the button on the top of the round handle must be pressed down, whilst the handle is turned clockwise. For filtered drinking water, the round handle is turned anti-clockwise. Activating the flow of boiling water is a precise, exacting action. All QETTLE taps come with a safety clip, which must be removed before boiling water can be activated. Without removing the clip, boiling water cannot be dispensed. QETTLE is simple and straightforward to install The QETTLE system is a simple and straightforward installation for a qualified plumber. Your QETTLE tap should be up and running in just a few hours. Please note that water pressure should always be measured before installation. QETTLE taps require a minimum of 1.5 bar pressure; if pressure exceeds 5 bar, a pressure reducing valve (PRV) should be fitted. Review: Excellent Addition to the Kitchen - There’s a reason for the number of good reviews for this product. All the components seem to be of very good quality, and the tap works just as you would expect. There is quite a bit of ‘stuff’ to go in the unit under the sink; the boiler (4l boiler is about 35(h)x 25(d)x 20(w)cm), the water filter, a drain which attaches to your sink waste pipe, and a little battery box which tells you when the filter needs changing. One of the biggest uses of space however is the myriad of flexible pipes which connect all the components. It needs a little thought about what goes where, but easily fits in a single 60cm unit, and it took me about an hour to fit and get the tap working. It’s worth running the water for a few minutes once set up to flush the system through- there was a small amount of gunk with the first bit of filtered water. One other thing to note is that the boiling water comes out somewhat cloudy- this is normal, as it’s just tiny bubbles- they clear if you let it stand for a minute, but looks strange of you’re not expecting it. The filters are significantly cheaper than rival products, which is worth factoring in, although they will still cost you £50/year if you change it as often as they say you should. In operation, the left hand side is a standard mixer tap, the right hand side is either cold filtered water, or if you press the safety button in and rotate away from yourself, boiling water. You can’t vary the temperature of this like a mixer, just the flow rate of the boiling water, which is good as you don’t want it firing out at full speed. Some steam comes out with the water, which can cause it to spit a bit if you pour too fast, although I’ve never scalded myself. The water is definitely boiling when it comes out- my thermometer measured 99.6°C in the flow of water. It will have to last for 20 years to pay for itself in energy savings, but that’s not why I got it- it’s cool and very convenient, so I’m happy, and it looks good, just like a normal tap.
Review: Good product and service and a good price - Bought this on a fairly early release, about 1 year ago and installed 6 months ago. We were looking for a boiling tap for our new kitchen , but could not justify the price of a quooker or a franke, but wanted 100c boiling. After some large amounts of googling we came across the qettle, seemed to fit the bill but was 1/3rd of the price of the other 2. A bit of researched showed that the manufacturer behind it was longstanding and well respected and based in the UK. We took the plunge, but it took a while until we were ready to install. Installation takes some planning, as there is a fair amount to fit in if you want all the pipes out the way so you can use the remaining space of the cupboard effectively, but we managed to fit it under a single Belfast sink with some careful thought, though we have added some holes in the base unit back and side next to the boiler unit to help circulate some air. The length of the flexi pipes are a little short and only just reached the tap connectors, others have mentioned that the Franke flexi's are twice as long. There was an issue on first installation where there was some weeping on the water inlet into the filter housing. An email to Qettle customer services and we got a call within 1 working day from someone, who obviously knew what they were talking about and they diagnosed the issue as an ill seated O-ring or a faulty collet in the push fit connector, he said he would get some in the post to us that afternoon and talked us through how to install them. They arrived next day and we installed them in a matter of minutes, which cured the issue instantly. Having used it now for 6 months, we are very pleased with it, my wife who was not convinced by the idea now is. we let or 10 year old use it without issue, saves a good amount of time when cooking things like pasta, also extremely good for cleaning baked on food in pots and pans. Excellent when entertaining and you have to make lots of tea and coffee, Though tea and coffee can be a little frothy some times, and the output can be a bit spitty, but we reckon most of this is how we use it. Downside is the single design, Franke have a couple of diffent designs to fit in with rustic, modern, etc., but for us the design fitted in well with our new kitchen Overall very happy, relatively easy to install given some thought, excellent customer service and alot cheaper than the competion. Just hoping it has some longevit as we have fairly hard water and hoping the filters stay competitley priced.

**Q: Do you have any plans to bring out a more modern style tap, squarer rather than curved, it's the one thing putting us off.**
A: This is something we are investigating so it may be an option eventually, however we are only in the very early stages so it will be some time (months rather than weeks) before we might be in a position to offer one.

**Q: Is it ok to fit a waste disposal system along with this tap as it is recommended to only use the waste pipe that comes with the Qettle tap?**

This particular Qettle 4in1 is the Qettle Original which is a chrome tap.  The Qettle Signature is the stainless steel tap

**Q: If I take five cups of boiling water, will the sixth be less than boiling?**
A: If you read the Amazon details it answers all your questions! 4 litres 8 cups recovery time 10 minutes! I have never had a problem!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome bit of kit!

I held off reviewing this tap for a couple of months to see how it performed. I’m happy now to say it’s a great tap, and wished I’d bought one sooner, but had been humming and ha-ing between this tap, and others on the cheaper and more expensive side of the Quettle. Pleased I made this choice, as it’s been great straight out of the box, and it was a surprisingly big box too! It’s beautifully finished and reeks quality for sure. The thing is there’s quite a lot of bits to get under the sink, with the boiler, filter unit, and all the hoses that go with it. That said, once you’ve worked out where it’s all going, installation is pretty straight forward thanks to the very informative fitting instructions. The drip tray provided is twice the foot-print of the boiler which was a bit of a surprise, but I realised that this is to also accommodate the optional chiller unit (which I didn’t go for because there’s a chiller in my fridge/freezer already). Operationally, it takes a little getting used to with the boiling water dispenser, since depending on what handed you are, you can end up all crossed up and potentially scolding yourself when making a cup of tea for example if you’re not careful. Of course you could mount the tap 180 degrees around, and solve the problem that way, but the normal hot water side would be rotating away from you, and if the tap is mounted close to a wall, you might not get the full rotation required - just an observation. Summing up, a great tap which delivers 100 degree boiling water at half the price of another well known brand. If I’ve one criticism, it would be the red child-proof lock (which imho isn’t very child proof) and is more a red rag to a bull than anything else. I’m sure they could come up with something better than this, but at least if the child got the red cap off, it would still have to press the button and rotate the lever. No kids in my house, so I don’t exactly have this worry, but none of these taps are completely fool-proof anyway…, are they??!!
