The gap measures around 3/4 inch, however it’s not uniformly 3/4 inch.I originally went with the high density ones, but found they have very little give and ended up getting the 1 inch low density one. The product worked like a charm. We took off the door and applied it to ensure maximum adhesiveness. We didn’t add anymore adhesive other than the original one, and it worked pretty well. I also found the adhesive is forgiving enough that if you misaligned, you could take it off and reapply.Because our floor is wood, the tight installation does make the door make a squeaky sound when closing tight, but that’s something we are okay with live with.
