You have to take both parts of the band off first. BUT, even though the fit is very snug, once these covers are on the device you lose ALL CONNECTIVITY to GPS and Bluetooth. It will not track your mileage and you cannot sync to the Fitbit App. I took the cover off and all GPS/BT connectivity was restored. I've asked for a full refund. ### ⭐ Waste of money. *by D***E on August 1, 2019* I tried and tried putting the item on correctly, however the rubber would not allow for the pin to lock in place. I do not recommend this product.
