I used a burr in my Dremel tool and it worked perfect to thin the plastic to a proper fit. A bit expensive in my opinion but does what its designed for and would buy again. If you think your going to purchase this cover and use your red dot, think again. Its not designed for that application or even implied that it is. Its a protective cover only, and does a good job for what its designed for on my RMR. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent for protecting your RMR! *by E***N on October 11, 2024* For protecting your RMR this would be hard to beat. It attaches firmly and keeps the lens dirt and dust free. I bought one for each of my RMRs and hope they come out with the pro model. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Meh... Go ahead and get one. *by T***E on January 27, 2015* As others have said, this is a so/so product in terms of functionality of design. It is much darker than it probably should be, and the slanted rear creates a rainbow effect on your dot. This rear design flaw also causes a horrible reflection when out in direct sunlight. It is a very hard/thick plastic. I have no doubt that it will protect my RMR, but with it being so thick, it completely obscures my front sight. Also it is nearly impossible to remove by hand. The rear sight on my M&P Pro CORE makes this a very tight fit, and it is impossible to use the rear lip of the cover to pull it off. I have had to pry mine off with a knife several times. There is very little give on the sides to adjust your RMR (if you have an adjustable RM06/07), which can make turning it off a little hard. The main reason I got this was primarily to protect my gun in storage and carrying it to/from the range. I may use it to shoot with, but I'm going to have to wait and see if I have any brass get deflected onto the glass of my RMR. I did make a modification that solves some of the issues, by cutting off that rear slanted piece of plastic. This still protects the front from flying brass, but allows me to see through the rear. I have to be honest, this or a scopecoat cover is all that's out there, so pickin's are pretty slim in terms of protection for your RMR. All in all, for the price it's worth seeing if it will work for you, but don't get your hopes up. Plus lets be honest... After shelling out $500+ on your new Trijicon, what's $12 more? I added some before/after pics of hacking that rear piece off. I wish I had taken some pics of how horrible it was before I cut it up.
