**Q: If an alarm is triggered, and all the alarms start going off together, how do you know which area has the problem, especialy in a larger property?**

Thank you for your question,
When using setting up your gateway, you will be able to name all of your alarms to correspond with the room in which they are fitted. For example, Lounge, Kitchen, Hallway.
If an alarm is triggered, the gateway will tell you which alarm has triggered, you will be able to identify which unit has activated by the name you have given it.

### ⭐ A very poor replacement to Nest Protect

I purchased the FireAngel Pro Connected Gateway after moving from a Nest Protect system and, while it does provide remote notifications and basic monitoring, the overall experience feels quite dated for the price. The hardware itself appears to work, but the software is disappointing. The FireAngel Connected app is noticeably less responsive than the Nest app and often feels slow to update device status. The user interface is functional but lacks the polish and usability that many users will expect from a connected safety system. One of the biggest frustrations is device identification. Once multiple alarms are added, there is no obvious way to physically identify a specific alarm from within the app. If you have several smoke, heat and CO alarms installed around the home, working out which device corresponds to which entry in the app can be unnecessarily difficult as they pair un-named. The smart home capabilities are also very limited. Despite being marketed as a connected solution, there is no meaningful integration with wider smart home ecosystems. There is no IFTTT support, no Philips Hue integration, no documented API, and no support for platforms such as Home Assistant or Hubitat. Alexa support exists, but it is basic and does not compensate for the lack of broader integration options. Compared with Nest Protect, I miss features such as spoken status announcements, heads-up warnings before an alarm sounds, a more mature app experience, and a much stronger smart home ecosystem. As a fire alarm system, it does the job. As a modern connected smart home product, it feels several years behind the competition. For a gateway costing around £60, I expected considerably more functionality and openness.
