## Description

Product Description Specially designed for legs that angle outwards (such as those on bar stools or similar kitchen or dining room chairs) The sliding base material on these feet are the perfect choice to easily yet subtly protect floors while allowing chairs to slide quietly and easily. Small and sleek in design just enough to blend in under the legs and are hardly noticeable. Simple, screw-in design provides a long lasting, permanent hold that will keep your floors flawless for years to come. No glues or sticky residue to mess with. From the Manufacturer The angled swivel base of the slider allows for angled legs to still make perfect, full contact with the floor, increasing stability without compromising safety. This product also comes with a 5-year limited warranty (1 year commercial warranty).

Review: Perfect for antique delicate chair legs! Match hardwood floor color. - FINALLY!! I'd tried every other plastic chair leg glide, lint gathering felt pads, etc. on my kitchen chairs (spindly-legged 1920s stamped-back wooden chairs). Their two back legs are angled, which caused problems with every other types of glide. Felt pads fell off. I thought I'd found a solution with those glides that have circle-shaped metal rings that you hammer in. Supposedly those prevented the chair legs from splitting, a common problem with nail-on glides. However, those split my chair legs! The one thing they promised not to do. Heartbreaking on antique family chairs (fortunately I only put them on one chair). They split the straight and the angled chair legs...I have no idea why those are so well reviewed. Also, those circular hammer-on felt glides can't be used on angled legs. My back chair legs are only SLIGHLY angled, so I really thought I'd be fine. But even the slight angle made them not work at all, and split the back legs in several places. I later noticed the straight front legs were also split, just not as badly. Enter these swivel sliders -- and voilà! I just followed the brief directions, and they're great! I could tell immediately that they were going into the chairs without any problems, without any splits. My only suggestion is to drill a slightly smaller pilot hole than the 3/32 recommended...that seemed WAY too easy to drill the screw in, and the screw wasn't as tight as I'd like. I'd try one size smaller and see if that works first -- unless your chair's wood is extremely hard, you should be fine with a 5/64 bit pilot hole. The screws go in extremely easily (with a 3/32" bit), so be careful not to spin the screws around once they're tight. I did better only driving the screws in partway with a drill, and then switched to a hand screwdriver. You don't want to spin the screw once it's in, it'll make the hole bigger and the screws will loosen up quickly. (And don't forget to put the plastic "ball" onto the screw before screwing it on! I made that mistake once.) Once the "ball" is screwed on, the "cup" just pops onto it...and all is set! At first I was concerned, because the cup seemed a little tight, and didn't swivel around on the ball freely -- gravity didn't move it if I tilted the chair. But then I realized that this is a good thing -- once you put the chair on the floor, the glides get into the correct position, and then they don't swivel around. This is good, because they can't flip up on their side when the chair is moved and accidentally gouge the floor. They stay at just the exact angle that works best for your chair. At first they look so weird, because you just installed them and it's impossible to stop STARING AT THEM! But soon you don't even see them. It's just the change that makes them seem obvious at first...nobody else even noticed them! They don't pick up hair and lint like the felt pads, and now I can spill water near the table without needing to worry about whether my wooden chair legs are getting soaked and damaged (those felt pads hold a LOT of water!) One tip? If you have hardwood floors, buy the color that matches your FLOOR, not your chair. They blend in so much better that way. (Of course, if you have tile or another floor that doesn't match either color, then match the chair.) These seem like they'll last a long time, and then can be easily removed, since they're screwed on. I'm investing in buying an extra set, too, since if I accidentally break one, there's a good chance that it'll only be the base -- then I can just pop off and replace the "cup" and keep the "ball" screwed in place.
Review: Could be improved - A good product, easy to install and works well. An improvement could be to have a permanent strong felt type tip. I have a ceramic floor and the previous squeakiness of the chairs when moved improved by 50% with the sliders. I then glued my own felt tips to the sliders with super strong glue. Now the chairs move silently. However, the felt tips need to be replaced every 6 to 12 months depending on usage. To have a strong durable felt tip option to the product would be a good improvement.

These wre placed on oir kitchen chairs which were gouging our hardwood floors. A little hard to put one the legs but so far, they seem to be doing a good job.
