Review: Great strings! - I been a professional musician for many decades, with literally thousands of performances over the years. That adds up to a LOT of guitar strings! I have probably tried just about every brand of guitar strings out there, and for my acoustic steel string guitars, Elixer 80/20 Bronze Nanoweb are always my first choice. They last a long time, definitely longer than uncoated strings, and they keep that “broken in” sound from about 10 minutes after being installed for a very long time. My hands seem to sweat a lot, and that can be very hard on strings. When I switched to Elixer Nanoweb strings several years ago, I immediately noticed how much better my guitars sounded over the life of the strings, and how much longer that fresh sound lasted. Besides sounding consistently good for a long time, I am probably spending less money on strings than I was when buying cheaper strings more often.

As the Poly coating wears off it can be uncomfortable to play and adds an ugliness to your guitar that any civilized being shouldn't want. Keep your baby looking good and she'll be good to you. However, if I remember correctly, the poly-coated strings did hold their sound and playability even longer than the Nanoweb coating, so if that's more of a priority for you don't feel bad about getting those. In summary, if you're looking for the best guitar strings on the market, you've found them. Figure out the correct weight of strings for your guitar and order some. I highly doubt you'll regret it.

**Q: What is the difference in sound between the 80/20s and the Phosphor Bronze nano web?  I enjoy ease of fingering, warm sound, projection.  Which one?**
A: 80/20s bronze will initially be brighter. Phosphor bronzes will be warmer.  80/20s become warmer after use more quickly and may become undesirable to use more quickly because the strings are no longer giving you the desired tone you started with.  Phosphor bronzes hold their initial tone longer, but are by design, warmer.  Projection (beyond gauge of the strings~heavy vs medium vs light vs extralight) and ease of fingering have much more to do with the guitar you're using, style of playing (use of a pick/how hard you're strumming/finger-picking), and setup (tuning~you drop down a half a step, the strings will have less tension and will be easier to bend).

**Q: I own a Wasburn D10N guitar and can't decide between the Elixir Light Nanoweb 80/20 Bronze and Phosphor bronze.  Any suggestions - spruce top?**
A: I have used almost every brand of strings on my various Martin acoustics. Elixirs stand above the crowd in terms of tone quality. 80/20 bronze bring out the best but need changing about every 2-3 months max for a daily player. Phosphor-bronze have less nuanced tone but still excellent, and seem to last almost twice as long. Recommend 80/20 for the regular player who wants the most "detailed" tone, P-B for more occasional playing and longer life. Discerning players will be happy with either in any case.

**Q: Why do I pay for amazon prime to get 3 day expedited shipping order these strings and ten days later no strings?**
A: Because Jeff Bezo's needs money to pay for his expensive divorce.

**Q: Can someone explain the difference between light and medium strings?**
A: The difference is the diameter (gauge) of each string in the set. The wood and design of the guitar has some bearing on it, but generally speaking, the heavier the strings, the more total volume is possible. Heavier strings are usually "warmer" sounding, and have more defined low end tones, but they also are the hardest on your fingers. Lighter strings often lack the low end warmth or definition people desire, but are easier to play and have a nice ring in the mid-high end. In the end, it all comes down to preference and application. I use Light (12-53) but usually play plugged in. I get even tone and definition when practicing, and can "shape" my sound in my pre-amp on stage. If you have the budget and patience, get 2-3 sets and see what you like the best.
