What happens is, over time, the fabric gets more porous and allows the air to escape naturally through the fabric. We have not found a way to seal the fabric and a new fan does not remedy the problem. Please check the model number on your fan. Unzip the main zipper and there should be a sticker on the fan with the model number and specs. **Q: You product description states: "please see the pictures for specifications". since there are no dimensions, what is the diameter of this blower fan?** A: The diameter is approximately 3.5". The specs are Model JDH1232S DC 12V 1.5a **Q: How do you remove the old and install the new?** A: That is the most challenging part!! I cut the zip tie (in the center part of the motor) and attempted to pull it out using pliers. That didn't work and out of frustration, I attempted to break the fan case which I don't recommend -- it doesn't work! What finally worked was cutting the black electrical cord (unplugged of course!) and pulling it out. That gave me enough wiggle room to finally get the zip tie out. Easy going after that! Good luck!!! You didn't ask, but I also wanted to share that I purchased this for an inflatable polar bear. The replacement had one less light than the original. If you encounter something similar, what I recommend is saving an extra plug and cutting one light out of the original light string (again, unplugged).
