They work exactly as expected when used as pouring potted tea into tea cups. The strainer wings are wide enough to span normal tea cups, the strainer catches the loose tea leaves as needed and the little drip cup is right there to capture any drops post pouring. Not putting them in the dishwasher as for fun we used paint pens to decorate the bottoms of the drip cups so they serve as a memento of our day.
