In my experience, Beyond Yoga bottoms seem to run about half a size smaller than brands like Athleta, Victoria's Secret, and Zella. These shorts were no exception,. Like some other people have mentioned, they do have a tendency to roll up if your hips are curvy. If you're more apple or banana than hourglass, you might not have that problem.Although I like these shorts, I tend to prefer them over a pair of contrasting color leggings. They're really short, and if you have much in the way of a butt (muscle or fat, either one), they get even shorter. They'd be great pole dancing shorts, if you're into pole fitness - lots of exposed skin for pole contact.I managed to get my pair on sale, and while I like them, I don't think I'd pay full price for them.

I have these shorts in several colors and overall I like them. I usually wear them to ashtanga yoga practice on top of footless dance tights and I'm happy with their performance and elasticity because they don't restrict hip movements even in extreme stretches (splits, legs behind the head, etc.). As other reviewers have noted, they run small. I'm size 4 and I order them in M. Recently I ordered a yellow pair and was very disappointed to discover that they were *totally transparent*. I suspect that this might be a general problem with the lighter colors because they are unlined.

The waistband did not stay put and the fabric (leg) kept on rolling up during my exercise .  Needless to say that I won't wear this one to my workout anymore.  Still give it a 2 star because I like Beyond Yoga's fabric and own tons of clothes from them.
