Acoustic foam only absorbs and displaces sound waves emanating in a room (e.g. they make an "echoey" room less "echoey").Sound Proofing = stopping of sound waves, as in moving from room to room like your noisy neighbor.Sound Absorption = absorbs extra sound waves in a particular space.Trust me, there is nothing you can buy on the internet that will fix your noisy neighbor problem. A better solution would be to ask said neighbor to observe more respectable noise levels appropriate for apartment living. **Q: Would these be effective in keeping the sound from a gym studio from travelling to a business next door?** A: it dampens the sounds to a muffle but doesn't stop it entirely. I find that most of the sound "leakage" occurs around the gap in the doors. Make sure those are sealed. **Q: I have a noisy chicken and live in a residential community. Would this work to sound-proof a chicken coop?** A: Pretty sure it would not. These are for acoustics and getting rid of bouncing sound waves in a confined space.
