I hope I never have to use this but I’d rather be prepared than not. ****If you are unsure about this, get it! You won’t regret it. It is the perfect size and fits in all of my purses and is lightweight) If you do have to use it just make sure you get skin contact for it to be strong and fully effective. I know people say that if the other person gets ahold of it, they can use it on you but I’m gonna fight and do anything I can to get away and if it means me getting zapped to get away then that’s what I will do.**** There is a switch on the side that you switch on to turn on the flashlight and then you press the button above the switch to activate the shock. Just a warning if you do test it, the shock is very loud. For charging you just plug into the wall. I don’t think you will have to charge it much since hopefully you won’t have to use it. But I would be sure to check it every so often to make sure there is still some power to it so if you do have to use it, it doesn’t die on you. It is probably best for when you are in the dark just because you can use the flashlight and then press the button in case you need to use it, rather than having to switch it on and then press the button. I try to keep this, pepper spray, and one of the safety fobs that chirp on me at all times just in case.
