It's gotten to the point where the blade is dull and the sharpener it comes with doesn't do anything for it anymore. Instead of slicing, his old set more shredded whatever it was supposed to be cutting.I purchased this for my dad for Christmas to replace his dangerously dull 20 year old set and the first thing he said was "OOOOOHHHH! I get to be a Samurai!" He was so excited that he proceeded to open it to take a closer look. He says the craftsmanship was impeccable and the balance of the blade with the handle was unmatched. He could not take his eyes off of it.He ended up using it Christmas night to carve our prime rib roast and it cut through it like butter.
