Then I discovered a few things, like how my TV does not have a ARC HDMI connection and that the Optical Out on the TV does not send out sound if the input is connected via HDMI. What? I called Sharp to confirm.Then it dawned on me to look for a converter from Analog Out (Left/Right red/white) to Optical. This low cost gizmo came thru for me.I resurrected my old surround system (LG Blu-ray system that I now use just for surround sound).I have my Sony PS3 and Cable box connected to my HDTV and have my converted analog to optical signal connected to my LG surround sound and life is great. When I watch football I hear the crowd coming out of 4 speakers and the announcers coming out of the front speaker.With Blu-rays it is even better. I love this little device.
