The castille has a faint smell of vanilla but not of olive oil. But the worst was the alepo style soap - laurel & olive oils soap. It smelled of neither and instead had a very strong odor of charcoal or ash that you get at a cold camp fire. Not exactly pleasant. Gave it 2 because well - it is soap, and does clean. (FYI ashes used to be used as an alkaline to make soaps long long ago). ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not the most Pleasant-Smelling Soap . . . *by R***. on Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2016* These soaps may be hand-made, but they have a chemical smell that I am not especially fond of, and I think that they are a little too thick in size, making them awkward to use.
