It doesn’t ride up on me as long as I wear it under my clothes, directly against my skin. However, the tag warns to avoid direct skin contact and recommends wearing a shirt underneath. I haven't had any irritation, but if I follow the instructions and wear it over a shirt it rides up and is uncomfortable. The velcro is easy to put on and adjust once you get used to it, but it attaches in the back so there is a learning curve. There is a mesh panel on the belly that gives good airflow. The sides/back have a lot of horizontal stretch but very little vertical stretch, so it feels supportive while not being constrictive. The instructions also say to hand wash only and I would stick to that.
