The picture shows a much darker pink and nearly red pieces, but the salt I received was mostly very light pink with a few practically clear pieces. It's not a big deal since I was only buying it to put in home made bath salts anyway, but I was hoping for a bit more contrast with the rest of the ingredients. Other than that it was fine. As to the size issue, like I said I wasn't sure what to expect, so I ended up just crushing it with my own mortar/pestle to achieve what I wanted. I was diagnosed with valley fever and decided no way is that going to consume me. I bought a nebulizer and mixed in diluted Himalayan salt for breathing treatments and darned if that did not kill off the crud. Dr. said valley fever was either a lab mistake or the breathing treatment worked. I think most disease is a result of sugar and fungus overgrowth so salt is a perfect remedy.
