Review: Purpose-Built Organization Without the Bulk — A Shop Favorite - I’m a big fan of these Plano Stow N Go toolboxes. While I still use my grandfather’s old aluminum toolbox for fishing gear, these Plano boxes shine when it comes to task-specific organization and storage. What I really appreciate is how easy they are to dedicate to a single purpose. I currently have multiple boxes in service: one set up as a complete soldering and wire-splicing kit packed with terminal connectors, heat shrink, electrical tape, soldering iron, solder, flux, a voltage meter, and replacement extension-cord ends. Another holds electronic components—resistors, capacitors, diodes, Zener diodes, triacs, and assorted transistors—kept neatly separated and easy to access. I also use one for fixed-angle sharpening system spare parts, including stop collars, springs, assorted metric bolts (M3–M6 in various lengths), and metric knurled thumb screws. Yet another is dedicated to ham radio gear with connectors, baluns, ferrite coils, and miscellaneous hardware. Review: Ideal for cleaning and transporting handmade glass - I discovered this tool box while looking for a more traditional tool box. While it is small, it is just about ideal for astoring everything I need to clean and prep glass beads which I make in my home studio. It has enough room for a Dremel, with a charger and 2 batteries, 3 sets of pliers as well as Dremel accessories and small hand tools. The lower portion contain 4 small cases with dividers, also ideal for storing and sorting beads once they have been cleaned. The box is small (note the pliers in the first picture for comparison. The pliers are on the large side, but the case is definitely much smaller than a traditional tool box. That also makes it ideal for people who need to transport a quantity of their work to shows, classes, conferences. I do still need to find a case for my larger tools, but when I saw this I knew it would work for organizing my glass cleaning tools which I do not typically use in my studio because it needs to be done under water. This makes it easy for me to move everything to a better location, once I have collected whater needs to be finished. My one and only issue with this set is that it comes with about 2/3 of the dividers required to use the small cases. I have to thank the reviewer who suggested using old credit cards, though they do not hold as well. At least it allows me to make efficient use of the space.... but why on earth did Plano not provide enough of these? They are small and inexpensive, and without them it is not possible to use those small boxes as well.. This is a great set for people who need to store and organize small things.... but that depends on having dividers for those plastic boxes.

**Q: do the slide out drawers have any permanent dividers, or can all dividers be removed so you have one flat space?**
A: Unfortunately, all the boxes have permanent dividers, so you cannot have one flat space. With some effort, you can cut the dividers out with a dremel or something to make it one large space.

**Q: How many slots/compartments can you make in each tray?**
A: The maximum number of slots you can make in any one drawer is 15, either with the provided dividers (no longer know how many provided) or your own. If you run out of dividers, you can cut up credit cards...serves two purposes *grin*

**Q: Do the plastic storage trays have any walls/dividers inside?  If so, are they movable?**
A: Yes, there are dividers for each of the trays.  The dividers from left to right are permanent but then you have small dividers to make smaller sections.  I used some of the dividers for my beads etc but then I left some full length so I could put multiple individual containers in them.  That way I don't have to repack all my beads, I can lay the round or square holders inside.  Hope this helps.

**Q: Is it good for storing things such as ic chips, resistors, lights and other small things?**
A: Nothing in the listing says it is anti-static.  Semiconductors should be stored in anti static containers.  Passive components should be okay, but not chips, transistors, or other active components.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality Plano box...

I purchased this box because I needed a container to hold my Dremel tool and its related accessories. When you are dealing with small component parts you really need to have them all in one place. At the same time I purchased another Plano box that was a little larger.. Plano 1362 2-By Rack System 3650 Size Tackle Box . I used the larger one for a similar purpose except a larger tool. I think it is important to remember that these boxes have one quality that seems to detract from their overall utility. That is because they are made of plastic. The manufacturer builds these items for a finite lifetime. When they break or wear out, you buy a new one. It is called "planned obsolescence". They are not intended to last forever. As long as you enter your partnership with that understanding, you should enjoy your use of this box. I have now owned and used this box for nine months and it is still in nearly perfect condition. Everything functions and nothing is broken. Latches close firmly, handle works perfectly, covers operate smoothly. This box is just about the perfect size for my needs. The main tool fits in the top of the box while the smaller trays can hold the different classes of accessories like grinding bits, sanding pieces, polishing accessories, and burrs. Or you can set up your own classification system, but the trays can keep everything together in one place and yet separated for ease of use. I am going to use this box for this purpose until it just completely fails. Then I am going to buy another one. Four stars. A high quality metal box might be marginally better (albeit heavier..). But I am happy. Being happy is good.
