I decided to keep the size 8.5 even though it is still a little bit larger than I would have liked, but that allows me the option of wearing two pair of socks in colder weather. I've worn the boots for several days and they seem easy to break in as the leather is fairly soft. The boots seem to be sturdy and they are comfortable to wear. I expect that they will last for a long time as the soles look to be very solid. I'm happy with the boots and I would buy them again.
