## Description

Use a 1.25" drill bit for the hole. Squeeze the rubber grommet into the hole. Screw the shut off valve into the rubber grommet. (Please note we understand the photo features the rubber threaded seal on the wrong end of the spigot and the video attached is of a different spigot. This was due to an desertcart hacker that had some fun with our photos. This listing is safe and when ordered a blue bent neck 1/4 turn spigot and correct threaded seal will be sent. We appreciate your business and hope you find the photoshopped pictures as humorous as we do. :) )

Review: Works well, no leaks, double check the size hole you need. - The guide for this said to use a larger hole drill bit, but I used a 1” bit and this slid in perfectly. If you use the larger bit they say to, it will fit loosely and you will have to position it just right or you’ll get leaks. I used this on the side of a plastic storage container; think Sterlite or Rubbermaid, those rectangular storage bins you find everywhere at department stores. Don’t over tighten this thing either; the rubber-like piece that threads on the back that acts as the “nut” on the inside of your water container is not rigid, it is a soft rubbery plastic; if you over tighten it, you will “jump” the threads and possibly damage the grooves. I didn’t experience this but I could feel that even just hand tightening it more, I could have easily torqued this thing down to where it would have jumped the threads. Just hand tighten, test for leaks, adjust if needed.

Had some doubts at first: read unflattering reviews here and they do feel kind of cheap, but I have never had a leak. For my larger barrels, 55-gallons, I took the precaution of inserting the seal partway, circling it with a heavy dose of silicon glue, pushing the seal the rest of the way in, then screwing in the faucet a few hours later. For the smaller barrels I don't bother with the glue and have zero problems. In fact, when one of the smaller barrels, which was full to the brim with rainwater, fell out of the trailer and the faucet was forcefully pushed out, I checked the hole I had drilled, checked the seal, everything looked okay so I cleaned up the area, re-inserted the seal and screwed in the faucet, and they are still working fine.

I manage a community garden and these barrel spouts are a great addition. We use rain barrels as “water towers” and had difficulty finding and fitting spouts to barrels. Most products require you to get inside the barrel and are next to impossible to install into the 55 gallon barrel we require. These are super easy to install and they are a terrific price. My only complaint is that some develop a leak over time. Otherwise this is a excellent product!
