It will work for a bit until it gets all rusty. I guess it depends on your level of use. I am planning to just go in the ocean for a 2 week trip and figured having something was better than nothing. But I do wish I would have spent the $10 more for this other knife with a real handle. Anyway, this thing will work, so I'm not saying don't get it, but if you can spare a few more bucks do something different. If you may lose it or just need something for a short time then definitely go for this.
