Helping to control feather mites elimnates stamping, rubbing, biting of the lower leg . 86% of CPL ( Chronic Progressive Lymphoedema ) cases are caused by Mites so keeping on top and treating regular is an essential part of your regime. Easy to use... Shampoo the leg as normal working into skin ( mites live on the skin) from where the Feather starts down to the bulbs of the heel,leave on each leg for 5 mins then rinse. Repeat 7-10 days later for upto 42 days to catch any newly hatched or missed mites. Ingredients Peppermint Essential Oil Directions Work shampoo well into skin from knee & hock down, leave on for 5-10 minutes, then rinse. Use every 7-10 days for 4-6 weeks to break mite cycle. Can be used as often as needed.

**Q: Do you leave on this shampoo for feather mites or wash off? thank you heather**
A: Use the shampoo in the normal way but leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing off. The easiest way is wet and shampoo the near fore then go and do the same to the near hind and continue around the horses til finished all 4 legs. Then go back to the near fore and rinse thoroughly. Continue all around til finished.

I used it on my cob, he gets milanders on the back of his knees and it has been particularly bad recently. I washed his legs whit this shampoo and the scabs just came off, I've used an array of products previously but this works really well. It is a bit pricey but a little goes a long way.

I have been using this shampoo for some time, it is gentle enough to use and effective, I use this in between the spray. They both do a great job. I think that as it does a good job then it is worth the money as I do like my pony to have her feathers and clipping the madame is an issue!! It smells ok too not overly strong, but you can smell the tea tree oil. Its a good alternative to the stronger shampoos out there.
