I had to clean out the entire set, as it was poorly cleaned and the ink was dry on the inside. Several of the "new" cartridges were opened and used, so they were unable to be used, as they were dried out. Other than all the complications, I think the "fine" nib was my favourite and it wrote nice and easy (when the ink flowed, which was for a small amount of time. Maybe 3 words it flowed for?).If you are new to calligraphy, THIS IS NOT THE SET TO GO. The nibs get gunked up easily with paper, and somehow, even parchment! The flow is NOT good at all. I keep on having to run them under water to get the ink to flow properly.If you're going to get a calligraphy pen, get a Noodler's Flex Pen first. I have to give it one star though because it arrived "broken" it was a gift so, that was embarrassing. I think if the container is stored upright the ink may not leak.
