The consistency was a bit. Then, nearly 3 weeks later I shook and massage the tube and the consistency thickened -- looks more like honey. (Makes me wonder if the directions on the box stated that but I overlooked it?!) I apply some and gently massaged into my lips with my finger,) it absorbs a lot better now than when first started using it. It leaves my lips feeling moisturized and a little plumped :-). The gloss/shine is subtle--not long lasting, and not sticky. I typically use it before bed mainly because i have quite a few lip moisturizers. I think its 'good' but might upgrade after I have used consistently, and if I see further improvement.I have a cleanser from the same company that I like a lot. It does give a nice gloss to your lips - but they feel so much better!This has a slightly herbal smell, which surprised me when I first used it. Its not bad, it was just unexpected. Oddly, when I first applied it I found it to be somewhat gritty - but have not noticed it since. It does have a bit of gloss to it, and makes your lips feel much smoother. I ride bicycles a fair bit and something like this product is necessary.I have used another type that contains Manuka honey - having bought that in New Zealand. Both work well - I actually prefer the scent of hte other type but it's not glossy and this is (Although this has no colour to it).
