Review: Great Kindle Light!!! - Bought this for my Kindle 3 (newest generation) This light is awesome, perfect for either night reading, or on cloudy stormy grey days (which is pretty much everyday when you live on the oregon coast in the winter). I can see where other people didn't like that it fell off with too much movement...but, I figured out why and was A-Okay with it. The clip is not a standard clothes-pin type...it expands out horizontally to accomodate your kindle in varying cases thicknesses...the only reason it's a bit wonkey is because the top of the kindle on the back is beveled...however, when my kindle is in the case the clip stays nicely in place because it has something nice and "square" to hang on to. The brightness is superb, and doubles as a flashlight when walking in a dark house...great for when I don't want to stub my toes on the corner of the furniture because I don't want to wake my sleeping husband with the overhead light. :) Can't comment on the battery life as of yet, but I have rechargeable batteries so I'm sure I won't have any problems with that. The light unit itself is a bit on the heavy side, and can flop forward if the light it extended all the way (vertically towards ones face), but keep in mind that was without batteries in it and without the kindle being in the case. Overall, an amazing light that works wonders!!!
Review: Almost Perfect - and That's Good Enough - This light has some great plusses. Its few minuses, noted by other reviewers, don't even add up to one less star for me. The plusses: Lightweight enough - 2.9 oz. with batteries - that it doesn't unbalance my Kindle 3G even in one hand, or weigh down my travel bag. Bright enough for my aging vision. Even though the lights are close together, they illuminate the screen evenly enough for my fussy eyes. Can be pointed away from my spouse. Though I haven't used up any batteries, the measured drain of 26 ma on low or 50 ma on high should give roughly 15 hours of use on high, twice that on low. The minuses: The clamp isn't shaped to snug up to the tapered back of the Kindle 3G. This means you can make it teeter if you try. But I don't notice any problem in actual use. Glare spot: If the head is placed over the screen, then yes, there will be glare. It's necessary to place it off to one side, and then it's fine. The illumination is still fairly even, and this position allows for directing the light away from a sleeping spouse. Some people have complained about the light being too bright. Personally, I find the dim setting just a bit dim, and the high setting just right. YMMV. As a bonus, if the clamp is pulled apart it can be carefully slid onto a half inch wad of paperback pages, for those of us who still have the old-fashioned kind of books, the ones you can keep and give to a friend after you've read them. There's no glare problem on paper, so the light can be positioned to evenly illuminate even those larger paperbacks they upsize in order to charge a few extra bucks. Bottom line: I'm a happy puppy.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love this book light! READ THIS REVIEW NOOKERS AND REAL BOOKERS!
*by V***Y on August 28, 2010*

5 stars average! Very bright yet doesn't interrupt those nearby such as spouse/children trying to get to sleep. This has been a big problem in the past. We've not been able to agree on a light bright enough for me to read with yet that wouldn't roam over the entire area around me. This light focuses on the area I want to angle it and it adjusts to either side or top of my nook without trouble. The gooseneck also increases the ease of adjusting the light away from others eyes, but still lights my nook great. I can put the clip on the left side of my book or nook then point the neck in the same direction=I can see wonderfully but others aren't effected. The grip is an adjustable 'grip-hand' which will stretch a couple centimeters or so in or out allowing me to get a tighter 'grab' on hardbacks by gripping more pages=stays in place better for real books. It's made for a Kindle but I bought it for my nook, chancing it's suitability because I 'felt' it would be the best 'focalized' brightness I'd ever find, and so far I'm pleased. I gave only 4 stars on adjustability simply because I'm using it on a nook, which has a curved edge with the grip-hand being squared off = adjustability is a wee bit harder BUT it's not made for the nook. I just fixed a bumper pad with some soft-sided velcro to give it that extra 'angle' to hold onto. That worked great. It's worked great with the 2 paged books hardbacks also, easily lighting up both without any adjustment at all. Paperbacks are a bit weaker in supporting it's weight. It's not heavy, actually very light especially along with an ereader instead of oa burdensome book, but not the usual weight for a paperback but if I grip enough pages, I can make it work fine (especially since I can now read without complaints from the family! Too, having a nook now, I don't plan on reading many more paperbacks once I finish my stash). I hope I've answered concerns for you well where I would have liked to have known before chancing, even though it all worked as I hoped. My surprise was how it folds into itself making it easier to fold into my book case /cover pocket
