Be sure and use 60/40 solder and hear your soldering fun no higher than 650 degrees. **Q: how many amps does this draw on full power white?** A: I have a strip on 60 LEDs and measured the current under a variety of conditions. There's a quiescent current of 55mA with no LEDs on. When programmed for max brightness, each of the RGB LEDs behaved pretty much the same and drew about 9mA each. The W LED was different and drew about 16mA. One RGBW LED, as a whole, drew about 40mA. Multiply that by the number of LEDs on your strip and there you go. **Q: What is the amperage on this? (full length of strip)** A: Hello , this is the DC5V led strip . everyone led is 0.3w , so every led is 0.06 A . 144led is 0.06*144=8.6A 300leds is 0.06*300=18A and so on . The LEDs at the far end of the strip might be dimmer because of the added resistance and voltage drop that occurs as the current flows to that end of the strip.Adding DC5V voltage every five meters .But if you power 1meter 144Leds you can use DC5V10A, you don't have to add 5V voltage for 1 meter. **Q: Can this be powered by either 4.5v or 6v?** A: Please don't use DC6V , it will burn this led strip . DC4.5V is ok . It needs a DC5V 6A-10A 30W-50W power supply .
