Japan uses a PAL format where as the USA use a completely different format for their discs. I bought this exact game for my US PS2 and it could not read it. My advice would be if you have the option to buy the PS3 KH2.5 or even better (because the ps3 version has some issues) the PS4 KH1.5&2.5, than you'd be better off doing that. There is a way it could work but it would involve you buying something called a "Magic Switch" and than disassembling your PS2,installing the Magic Switch, and than reassembling it. There is also the method that if you want to take the time to take a blank RAR disc and burn KH2FM' ISO onto it and than patching it in English than it could possibly work. Above all though if you have a good computer that can run PS2 emulators than I would suggest getting an emulator of KH2FM off of the emuparadise site and running it for free that way. **Q: Do i have to have a ps2 from japan or can it be from america?** A: It has to be from Japan.
