The seal is so good that , if hot stuff is placed in the container and sealed, it creates a vacuum like seal and makes the lid harder to remove when opened. **Q: Has anyone tried fitting these lids on Snapware bottoms and vice versa? Are they the interchangeable?** A: I did try, and they do not. They are 100% incompatible with Snapware bottoms/lids. So I returned them. **Q: Where are these made?** A: I believe they are made in China. They are not labeled. I can tell you that the glass is nice and thick , it's a quality product. **Q: I'm worried if I store them with lids locked and I don't get them perfectly dry they will smell funky. How do you store ?** A: I usually wash them in the dishwasher, take them out and leave the lids for a day in the dry dishes rack just in case they are not 100% dry. Then I put them in the cupboard/drawer, but I keep the containers without the lid, I don't close them when they are not in use.
