Yes, the colors and decals are different, but that is where the differences end. I can't believe that in over 30 years they couldn't figure out any improvements that could have been made (like tires that grip better instead of skidding around and around until you finally begin to move or maybe providing a brake of some sort).Yes...the big wheel is cute, and it brings me back (really just makes me feel old...but that's okay)...but I think they could have made it a more comfortable ride with some updating. I remember that since the positioning was so awkward back in the day, and it was so hard to begin pedaling, that I completely ripped off my seat and used it like a scooter (holding on to the handlebars, one foot on, the other pushing until I gained speed). I also remember being dragged down the street, holding on to the handlebars with both knees scraping the pavement because I was too scared to let go! I'm just going to try to be very observant with my daughter when she rides and hope that she doesn't do what I did!The one picture is of me on my big wheel back in 1985, and the other is of my daughter in 2015. It's crazy how similar they are. My daughter does enjoy riding the big wheel every now and then, but I feel it's not as much fun as you would expect for such a hefty price tag considering how basic it is. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Put it together ahead of time. Putting the Big Wheel together was a huge pain in the rear!! Why do we have to apply the stickers? Seriously? They can't add another step in the assembly line for that? And, "block of wood not included"? If the pedal can be used to keep the axel in place while trying to hammer the end caps on just say that in the instructions. Not many people have a 2 to 3 inch piece of wood just laying around the house. Finally, the tool provided to hit those ridiculous end caps on is a joke. There have been great leaps forward in hardware. I wish Big Wheel would do a little research and update the design to make it easier on the poor parents that are putting these things together on the eve of their kids birthday, Christmas, etc..... If I hadn't done it a few days before Christmas my little one would have been very disappointed Christmas Day. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reminder of the old style. *by M***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2014* This reminds me of the big wheels I had when I was kid and I'm glad that my daughter can experiance it! This bike is so adorable and it's easy to move and ride. Putting it together however, was not a piece of cake. It was harder than I expected it to be. The back two wheels is what caused me the headache as you have to put these little metal caps on a metal bar. Maybe there is a trick to get them on easy out there, but I didn't have it. After I got past that part, it was easier and well worth it to see the smile on her face. I like that she can grow with it as the seat back moves easily. I'm not sure how long the princess deal on the seat back will stay on. The plastic seat back has groves but the sticker is one peice so it's not flush with seat back.
