Will this transformer power it?** A: Can't say for sure, but it should. It's 60W MAXIMUM which means 5 A at 12V. As long as your bulb is specified for 12V DC input, the transformer will put out 4.16A = 50 watts. Input voltage to this transformer is standard 120V AC. I replaced the transformer to a small hanging light over the bar and it worked well. **Q: Are these transformers suitable for fixture with mr-16 led instead of halogen bulb?** A: If the led is rated for 12 volts and 60 watts or less it will work. **Q: The unit i'm replacing (novitronix 9801ar) has 4 cables. how does this work?** A: Not sure. This transformer was an exact (not as a model, but in wiring) replacement for a pendant halogen light transformer that has gone bad. This unit fit in and currently performs perfectly. **Q: It works for about 10 minutes then the light turns off for a while. Light turns on again for a while then turns off. Is this a defective unit?** A: It is either a heat issue or wattage issue. That is stays on for 10 minutes, is an indication to me that it is a heat issue.
