They won't protect your opponent from getting KOed. They'll more so protect your fists from getting shredded.2⃣ ...with that being said, these make great bag gloves.3⃣ Thin leather-material-feeling, elastic wrist strip, and soft terry cloth snot pad on the thumb.4⃣ Sizing: I'd say the XL size would fit 90% of guys out there. I'm 6'1", 165lbs (slender sort of fellow) with medium sized hands from my stature. These gloves (XL) fit perfectly.5⃣ Excellent grappling gloves--much better than some others I've tested. Again, don't punch full-force with these because the padding doesn't do a lot to protect your opponent. Nicely made and strong enough to tolerate the abuse of pounding a heavy bag and hand-held pads, while comfortable to wear and not at all restrictive. The fingers are free, and while that leaves them vulnerable to getting injured, it also allows the fighter to execute not only gross motor grappling techniques, but also fine motor moves, such as joint locks.Highly recommendedLoren W.
