Loved it initially; it looks really nice, works great, etc. Four years later and I'm extremely frustrated...the surface coating is now flaking off badly and the bare underlying metal is now showing on approximately 25% of the overall surface area. It started doing this the second summer but wasn't too noticeable. Last summer was worse but still tolerable. Fourth summer and it's now an eyesore and I'm embarrassed to have my neighbors see it. I either need to check the warranty to have it replaced or worse yet, start over and buy something new again. For what it's worth, I'm in the suburbs of Chicago in case climate was the driving factor for its short longevity. I would appreciate responses if others have had similar experiences, especially if you were able to reach any resolution with the manufacturer with respect to the warranty or anything else. I'm truly impressed and my faith in customer service took a significant step back towards the positive end of the spectrum. Everyone who walked by commented on how nice it was and where they could get one. My husband chose to sink it in concrete and that worked very well for us. It can be mounted several different ways. It really is the nicest mail box in the neighborhood. We bought the house #s sold by the same company and really liked them as well.
