Review: much brighter than expected ... a nice thing. - instructions are pictures and slightly related words. Over 50 yrs, have ran romex cable ( flat power wiring ) drill holes and mounted more than a few external lights. MAKE SURE HOUSE POWER TO LAMP WIRE IS TURNED OFF take the rmetal ring in hand, find the longest screw in packages. RUN SCREW in and out of the Nipple in center of ring, Will make much easier to mount lamp. mount metal ring with center nipple facing towards area you wish to light., to mounting box ( you supply mounting box and power wiring ... if no box and no clue .. HIRE ELECTRICIAN ) Pull White and black of house wiring ( the stiff wires, through top left of ring. green of house wire( ground ) through the right side. Back out green screw *do not remove ) Black disc. Remove center. peel paper, put wires of lamp through the circle and place circle around diameter of base of lamp. strip an additional 1/4" from lamps green wire. Unless you are good at balancing on ladder with one hand to work with or have way of holding lamp, get a helper. Both on sturdy ladders or ?? . Attach the House green wire under green screw, wrap clockwise, wrap lamp green wire, clockwise around screw, DO NOT pull tightly around screw, want loose, Tighten green screw, trapping both house and lamp wire. As long as you do not swing or drop lamp, the green wire will be strong enough to hold lamp, You can let lamp hang as you work. Using the wire nuts ( coned shaped ) Twist the lamp black wires counter clockwise, until have tight stiff twist. Place both black wires all the way into same wire nut, Hold both wires about half inch below nut, Turn nut clockwise, trapping both black wires in the nut. Do not over tighten, SNUG is usually good enough. SEE that no bare wire is exposed below edge of nut. if exposed, hold wires, counter clockwise, remove wire nut and try again. If still, remove nut trim a bit off the house wire. shove wires as deep as can into wire nut. Hold in wire nut, Twist nut CLOCKWISE. Snug is good. Push wire nut with wires inside through top left opening I'm metal ring. Same one house wires came through, Repeat with the white wires. Shove them through ring, same as black. Shove green wire into ring, Have the long screw ready, place it through the center of base ( you may have to move lamp arms ....DO NOT FORCE MAIN LAMP MOVEMENT >> USE SCREW DRIVER >> LOOSEN SCREW on side elbow of arm. As you place base to metal ring, DO NOT TRAP wires ... you must move wires behind the ring into the box, IF WIRE NUTS CAME OFF ,,, STOP !!! PUT WIRE NUTS BACK ON WIRES, REPEAT STEPS IN ADVISE ABOVE . Leaning a bit to one side, with small space between you can see where the long screw in base, meets the nipple in center of ring. Put screw in threaded nipple, Line it up. Hood base even with ring . Using screw driver, gently turn the screw CLOCKWISE, eventually you will feel it catch ( may have to wiggle base a bit ) DO NOT FORCE SCREW. Gently tighten screw, Hold base even with ring, screw is long, will take a few turns Snug screw. Do not over tighten. Adjust main lamp to your needs, tighten the screw in elbow, Again snug . This is the mounting part. Adjustments on bottom. Left is distance of motion detector. Middle is light detector adjuster ( how bright or dark to turn lamp on ). Right adjusts amount of time lamp stays on ( timer ) Set all to middle and when gets dark, start from there, Counterclockwise is less and Clockwise is more sensitive ... timer sets between few seconds to 7 mins of lamp being on. These are tiny rotating switches ...makes them VERY sensitive, Slight movements GIANT changes. SUGGEST do not make major adjustments ... took me 4 days to get mine where I want it, Thus far, once 3 settings adjusted ... works great. IS VERY VERY bright. Lights up about 25, 30 feet on either side ( well enough to see where are walking ). Center is day light, blanketing 2 and half car wide drive way and dependihg upon tilt, 25 to 30 feet of safe usable light from mounting wall. SO far a great purchase. Only been in use for 3 weeks. Have motion set to detect pet cats. Works fine. 8 feet away from wall, can easily read newspaper. No disappointments here.
Review: Low-Profile Stealth Design, Massive 7,000-Lumen Backyard Flood - Week 1 review: If you are looking for a heavy-duty outdoor floodlight that doesn't look like a massive, industrial eyesore hanging off the back of your house, this device is excellent. Out of the box, it features a remarkably sleek, low-profile stance. The panels are incredibly thin and discrete, allowing the unit to blend seamlessly into your siding or trim during the day. However, once night falls and you flip the switch, the massive 7,000-lumen output easily turns a large backyard into absolute broad daylight. The initial build quality feels solid, featuring thick die-cast aluminum cooling fins and heavy-duty weatherproof IP65 sealing. However, the instruction manual text is very confusing regarding the physical layout of the dials on the unit. If you try to configure the knobs following the manual's "left-to-right" text, you will set it up incorrectly and get frustrated. To get this light working perfectly, ignore the written text entirely and look exclusively at the molded plastic symbols raised directly on the casing. ⚠️ The True Hardware Dial Layout Looking directly at the bottom interface of the sensor module, the dials are physically arranged in this exact hardware sequence: MOTION (Sensor Tracking / Range Selector) LIGHT LEVEL (LUX / Ambient Daylight Level Selector) TIMER (On-Duration Control) ⚙️ How to Enable Continuous Dusk-to-Dawn Mode (Bypassing Motion) The manual describes a hidden D2D (Dusk-to-Dawn) hardware mode where the light turns on completely at dusk and off at dawn, bypassing the motion sensor entirely. If you want a continuous, night-long floodlight without dealing with motion time-outs, align the knobs to these exact physical settings: 1. MOTION KNOB: Turn it ALL THE WAY RIGHT (Clockwise) until it points directly at the raised D2D symbol. This completely deactivates the motion detection system. 2. LIGHT LEVEL KNOB: Turn it ALL THE WAY LEFT (Counter-Clockwise). This points it to strict night sensitivity, ensuring the built-in photocell only engages when it is pitch black outside. 3. TIMER KNOB: Turn it ALL THE WAY LEFT (Counter-Clockwise) to its minimum setting, which is required for a stable D2D circuit path routing. 🔄 Real-World Use Cases: "Party Night" vs. "Watchdog Mode" Configuring the light via this hidden D2D hardware method unlocks the absolute best of both worlds if you pair it with an electronic switch or automated wall relay: Use Case A: The "Party Night" Setup (Continuous Hosting Light): When you are hosting guests outside and want the yard fully lit, simply turn your wall switch ON (manually, via an app, or a smart voice command). Because the hardware is locked into D2D mode, it checks the dark sky and snaps on instantly. It stays locked ON at 100% full maximum brightness all night long. Because the motion sensor is completely offline, your gathering will never be interrupted by sudden dark time-outs, and guests don't have to keep waving their arms to turn the light back on. Use Case B: The "Midnight Cutoff" (Automated Energy Watching): When the party is over, you don't have to walk outside in the dark to twist the hardware dials back to a standard security setting. You delegate the logic entirely to your wall switch schedule or smart home automation routines (e.g., creating an automated rule to "Turn Switch OFF at 11:00 PM" or "Turn OFF 4 hours after sunset"). When the circuit drops, your perimeter goes dark, saving power and protecting your energy bill automatically without your intervention. Final Verdict: The light fixture itself is an absolute powerhouse of brightness, and the low-profile casing looks incredibly discrete and sharp once mounted. Just bypass the confusing text in the user manual, follow this physical dial blueprint instead, and you will have absolute automated control over your property perimeter. I recommend it!
