Review: Fantastic Clipper - Large works Great - Fantastic clippers. I have 2 bulldogs that run and hide when they see the clippers come out. One of them has Large Toenails and the normal clippers don't work. With the help of some peanut butter, I was able to clip his nails in about 15 seconds per paw. They are razor sharp and do the job. Just confused on the "distance stopper" on the back. It's locked in and when I moved it, not to go to deep, it loosed up. I'll figure it out. The Large size is perfect and the grip is fantastic. They are very well made, not cheap. Literally half the price and twice the quality of store bought. Highly Recommended

**Q: I can't figure out how the stop works. There are no instructions. I would love is someone could help me with this. Thanks!**
A: you just place it in the middle (i know it moves), and then when you put the dog's nail in there, it can only go so far and not passed that point....the first and only time i used it, i was still hesitant, so really i just cut a little bit of the nail off, not knowing if the 'stop' would be too far or not.....i think if it's your first time, you must determine how long the nail is, and if you put the dogs nail in there and you think the 'stop' is too close to the point where you're gonna hurt the dog, you pull back.....i think the 'stop' will work only if the nails are really long.....but i totally agree that there should be some instructions for us novices......hope this helps.........good luck!

**Q: I have a 35 lb. dog.  Do I get the sm/med. or large clippers?**
A: I use the small for my 11 lb doggie and the large for my 60lb doggie. I would think you are in the medium category.  Hope that helps :)

**Q: do these have a 'stop' so you don't cut too short**
A: Yes they do have a stop and they work GREAT!  Just used them for the first time this past Saturday on "my owner" and he did not even flinch.  Was very nervous because another product that I purchased, cheaply made (bought) would flex, not cut properly and required more hand strength, which then made the product flex even more.  This set did NOT flex, made a clean cut with less effort and no pain or yelps from the recipient of the "pawdicure".   Recommend this set HIGHLY as well as the vendor.ese worked as they should on my roughly 75 to 80 lb "owner".

**Q: I bought what was listed as "small/medium" for my medium (40lb) poodle, but what arrived says "small." Should I get the "large" instead?**
A: Small and medium are relative. I had wolfhounds. I then adopted a dog who was listed as a large hound. He was about 55 lbs. and could walk beneath the wolfhound's belly.  I would have described him as a small hound.  Anyway if those clippers are the same size I have (the pkg. has been thrown out) they are fine for my 50ish pound hounds.  So should be fine for your poodle.

I always hated clipping my dog's nails but this clipper makes it so much easier! They are very strong and cut right through. I have a very large dog (about 82 lbs) and these are perfect.

Love these there great for bigger dogs! I love that it has the little guard in the back. Downside is that the guard is HARD ASF to move. Another down side is if you’re not careful you can really hurt yourself with these. They work great there sharp and exactly what I’ve been looking for . I did hurt myself earlier while clipping my babies nails. And this isn’t the first time I’ve done it, it’s probably me but when your clipping their nails the way you hold it has to be a certain way or you will pinch you hand and it’s not a soft pinch lol!
