Good products! - A review of the quality: These adapters are great! I haven't bothered with the extra ring/seal, and I have had NO leaks! In the enclosed materials, Maymom notes that they have listened to customers and included the seal rings, but I don't find them necessary. I think this is a quality product, made connecting to my bottles so much easier! Review of why they were purchased: These were purchased to fit my Medela Pump In Style Advanced, or Symphony (PiSA) pumping parts to a Philips Avent storage cup. Works great! My only gripe (and this is not to Maymom- they are fantastic!) is that the Avent storage cups that nestle down when in storage have their own adapter to fit Avent, which means I had two adapters, which seems a bit excessive. Since then, I have moved on to Lansinoh storage bottles, no need for two parts. That said, I think Maymom is fantastic, and I've purchased at least four different types of replacement parts from them! Review: Adapts wide mouth to narrow bottles! - This is advertised to adapt wide to narrow opening for pumping, but it also works to adapt to a narrow bottle nipple! For example, we had a variety of wide and narrow bottles because we weren’t sure which my child would take to. He ended up liking the narrow bottle nipples, but since we had so many wide bottles, I didn’t want to waste those. So this adapter works to use the wide bottles and narrow nipples. Does this work for wide (spectra) to regular (meddle) collection bottle conversion?** A: No. This connects to Medela flange components, but the Spectra's shield/flange thing-y is too wide on the bottom. I tried to connect it "upside down" but the threadded parts are both on the inside (so like trying to connect two female plug-ends) and it did not work. I have ALL my stuff out bc I'm putting it away (YAY!) today.Here's the deal that I found worked wonders for me (I exclusively pumped). I use the Spectra S2 (best thing EVER!!) but I had a ton of Medela stuff and I like that you can pick your shield size. So I used Medela parts on the Spectra S2. All you need to do that (and use your Medela bottles) is to buy Maymom's little yellow connectors for Spectra-to-Medela. Presto- DONE!Another tip-- because I pumped so much, I, like so MANY other moms found that the Pumpin' Pals shields was a life saver. They don't hurt, and you can lean back. They go well with the Medela pump parts and Spectra S2 setup, because they just go where the shields went. On Spectra pump parts, since the shield is part of the flange, I don;t know how they get inserted or if it works well. But hey, if you've got Medela stuff laying around, those little yellow adapters are super-cheap, consider giving them a try! GOOD LUCK!! **Q: Does it work with dr brown bottles?** A: No- not the standard (small) neck bottles. The skinny end goes into your Medela part that brings the milk from the breast into a container. This would connect that Medela part to a larger-mouthed bottle. So, without it, you can hook Medela bottles AND Dr. Brown's skinny/normal-necked bottles. But by adding this, you can connect your Medela setup to Spectra wide-mouth bottles. I do not know about Dr. Brown's wide-mouth bottles. **Q: Do these work with mason jars?** A: sorry. No. this one does not work with mason jar. **Q: What's the difference with other same products?** A: It depends which other products. I am an exclusive pumper. I pumped for two years with my first son (before this product). I am currently pumping for my second son (three months old). Due to the volume of milk I pump (especially in the morning), I would often have to switch Medela 8 ounce bottles mid-pump to accommodate the amount of milk produced. This product allows me to use my Medela Personal Fit Connectors/Breast Shields directly with my 11 ounce Philips Avent Natural Bottles. I have had no leaks using the adaptor and sealing rings. I can then put a nipple on the Philips Avent bottle and feed it directly to my son. This has been a time saver for our family. It saved me from pumping into the Medela bottle, pouring it into the Philips Avent bottle, washing the Medela bottle and repeating the process. I prefer the Avent bottles over the Medela brand due to their wide opening (making it much easier to wash), and this product allows me to do this!
