Review: Best leftovers-for-lunch warmer - I have had this item for years and love it! I have several dietary restrictions so I use this almost every day. The evening before, I fill the inner container with leftovers to take to lunch the next day. The next day, I plug it in as soon as I get to work (7:00 AM) and it is ready to eat when I need it (but at least an hour later). I’m a special education teacher so I don’t have 1 long lunch time, but have to eat during small times throughout the day. I leave it plugged in all day and eat when I am able. The food does not burn and is hot all day. I’ve purchased one other lunch- warmer product, and the food all burned within an hour of plugging it in. This crock pot product is my favorite! I purchased a second crock pot warmer only because I needed the inner container (I lost the lid for my original one). But that works well because then I leave 1 warmer at home to use on the weekends and 1 at work. I do wish it was possible to buy the inside container and lid separately. Though, a tip, if you lose the lid you can just use aluminum foil. After at least 5 years, the warmer lot won’t screw on anymore so I will purchase another for that reason, but even with the lid not screwing on, it still warms my food just fine.

**Q: Can it cook something that hasn't already been cooked like a regular crock pot? A stew or soup for example.**
A: It is perfect if you like slightly raw or rare meat. Some tomato sauce and butter and the chicken breast or ribeye comes out perfect, just cut them in cubes for even "cooking" and enjoy juicy meat. But, if in a stew or soup it will take hrs for the meat to turn gray.

**Q: Can you smell the food cooking in this like you can with a regular Crock-Pot? That would be a big problem in my office so want to know before I buy.**
A: I use mine in my office. I leave it to heat up on our pantry counter. I can slightly smell food once it really starts to heat up. But that is only if its something super spicy. I don't notice any smell if it's soup.

**Q: What happens if you leave it plugged in for longer than 1 hour?  Longer than 3 hours?**
A: Mine is always plugged in for 3 hours.  If you add fully cooked meats they will dry a bit, rice will get crisp on the sides same with pasta but I don’t mind.  Fish... will dry out.  Soups and stews perfect.

**Q: Is the insert stainless steel or aluminum?**
A: Civil engineer here. Not all stainless steel is magnetic. Typically 300 series (Austenitic) stainless are not magnetic and 400 series (Martensitic/Ferric) are magnetic.

I have had this item for years and love it! I have several dietary restrictions so I use this almost every day. I LOVE this little crock pot! It definitely is nice for sending soup, chili, foods that need to be hot to work with my husband. This does not cook your food, just reheats them. The food is very hot when he's ready for lunch so it's definitely worth it. He plugged it in around 10 and by noon it was hot so it doesn't have to be plugged in all morning long. It's very compact and light weight. Easy to clean. The only complaint would be the lid. It's made of a stiff plastic so it doesn't snap in very tightly so I worry that it might come off if the bowl tipped on its side. Other than that this has been such a great thing to buy
