The vent-hood is very sturdy and made of reasonably thick material. I was expecting a spring held lid/door on the exhaust vent (from product photo), but that was not the case, they are just cotter pins at the hinge point. (Photo quality was insufficient to show this, and I interpreted what I saw as spring held door/cover.) The door hangs on gravity, and the slightest little breeze lifts it and allows slight back drafts for cross breezes.The gasket is entirely useless as it is only about half as thick as it needs to be for my application. (My block size is larger than the cover). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprised by how easy it was to install. *by L***L on Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2020* I was planning on this taking a few hours since I had two to install. It took about 45 minutes and 15 of that was spent cutting a bush back so I could get the ladder in position!The old plastic vent cover disintegrated in my hand, I cleaned out the birds nest, connected the ridged metal connector with flex tube, made sure the rubber gasket was in place and screwed the vent into place. Done! Fit perfectly into the opening the old one was in.There are "clips/pressure tabs" to hold the connector to the tube. Good design. The entire vent is stainless steel, unlike my old vent which was plastic and totally fell apart in less than 15 years.Can't say how long it will last or if it will work against animals/birds, but steel and steel mesh should last a good while, call me impressed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bathroom vent *by J***D on Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2020* I bought this for a bathroom vent, Hard part was drilling a 6" hole through a insulated concrete form wall. There is 6 1/2" of concrete in the wall. The hard part was having to cut through 4 pieces fo 1/2" rebar. What worked for cutting the rebar in the 6" hole was an oscillating saw. It took 4 blades. This was my last option before using a blow torch. The vent was just what I was expecting. It looks as though it will last and it is working nicely.
