There is no leather liner like a real helmet has but there is a foam ring that works to fit the head. It is plastic with a matte finish that makes it look more like metal. I added helmet decals to mine and will use it for a display item.

I got this helmet for a diesel punk costume pretty much expecting to get an ok quality costume helmet. I was pleasently wrong on my assumption. It is true to the picture and sturdy. The inside has foam but is very roomy and not very comfy but for my use it is perfect.
