Thanks LR Team **Q: Does this move well on carpet?** A: No, it doesn’t work well on carpet. However I bought 1 set for my 5 year old granddaughter and 1 set for my 5 year old grandson (granddaughter from son and wife, grandson from my daughter and husband). Both love playing with it. On carpet they set it up as pups/kitties and use their imaginations. I recommend this, unless you are hoping it will turn them into the next Bill Gates. **Q: Is a 7 year old perhaps too old for this?** A: Hi, I would think a 7 year old wouldn't suit this item. Maybe look at Botley or the Robot Mouse on Amazon? Thanks Claire **Q: Would this work with the code and go robot mouse math pack please?** A: Hi, The item is similar to the code and go robot mouse however the coding critters, one step is approximately 10.2 cm whereas the mouse is approximately 12.5 cm. So based on this the mouse math pack will not work with the coding critter. Thanks Claire ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome and interesting toy *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 10 July 2021* This was for our 4 year olds birthday and she loves cats so we knew this would be a hit!It is super easy to program and use. Imogen soon understood how to make it move. It has a simple mode of just pressing the arrow buttons (forward, left, right and backwards). It is a little hard to visualize the distance traveled with the forward and back movements but with a little practice you soon get the hang of making the cat move where you want to.It is a fun a novel toy!It seems well made. The small kitty is cute too and has a magnet which triggers a meow noise which adds to the toy's appeal. Some of the extras are just props to use to navigate around.Outside of the programming mode there is a cute dance mode where the cat moves with music it plays, a sleeping mode, a sentry mode and feeding modes. These are just pre-programmed modes where the cat moves or makes sounds with the press of the buttons. To be fair that is all this toy will do so be mindful of the price. We got this at a really good deal.As for replay value, this will depend if your child likes the programming side of things or whether this will just be something to pick up occasionally to play with just for the sounds.Overall for us, a thumbs up considering the price we paid. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great play and easy to use *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 29 December 2019* Love this - daughter is dinosaur mad so she loved playing with this and trying to work out how many spaces to move to get to the baby etc. Really easy and simple to use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Main unit excellent *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 7 February 2026* Ranger (dog) unit well designed and manufactured. Supporting items tree, slide, seesaw poor quality and broken within days. Almost not worth them being in the box. Dog itself is excellent. ## Frequently Bought Together - Learning Resources Coding Critters Bopper - 22 Pieces, Ages 4+,Screen-Free Early Coding Toy for Kids, Interactive STEM Coding Pet, Preschool Learning Toys - Learning Resources Coding Critters Ranger & Zip,22 Piece Set, Ages 4+, Screen-Free Early Coding Toy for Kids, Interactive STEM Coding Pet, Gifts for Boys and Girls - Learning Resources Coding Critters Scamper & Sneaker - 22 Pieces, Ages 4+ Educational Learning Games, Screen-Free Early Coding Toy for Kids, Interactive STEM Coding Pet --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/182664223-learning-resources-coding-critters-bopper-hip-and-hop](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/182664223-learning-resources-coding-critters-bopper-hip-and-hop) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-11-04*
