Mine came with a support ring which has a groove on only one side, won't connect 2 pieces of glass.** A: The support ring you descibe sounds like the gasket that fits only on the bottom of the connected tubes. The tubes connect with a metal cage sleeve that both tubes should slip into. This should have been included with the order.
