Anyway *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2015* Bought these cables after my wife's car died and I had to knock on 15 houses to find someone home with a pair. So...I figured it was time to get myself a pair to keep in the truck. Anyway, bought these just to have something cheap and effective. I've only had them a week or so and have already had to use them. They're decent (especially for the price) but nothing grandiose. The clamp seems a little thin and doesn't open quite as wide as some of the other cables I've used. Plus they come with a case. Again here, the case isn't very fancy or anything but at least it has one. Still I'd guess that it's the type of plastic that will wind up cracking within a year or two. But the bottom line is that it was inexpensive and it worked. I did mention earlier that the clips are smaller than others I've used. That would be the only reason not to buy these I'd say. If your battery terminals are way bulky then don't get these. If they're standard size you should be fine. Anyway, I hope this helps someone in their buying decision. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great booster cables and a really good price! When it said "no tangle," that's true—even for someone as disorganized as myself. It easily unwinds and packs back up very compact. Really good pliable (not hardening) wire jackets with well-made, solid connectors on both ends. The packaging is great too. Mine came with one of the red (positive) terminal clamps being separated quite a bit from the jacket that protects its wire (only one plug on one end, though).. which exposed the bare wire. So I deducted 1 star for that, but was hesitant to, honestly. I've used these several times, and they're flawless and effortless to use! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for a Ford C-Max, but Poor Quality Crimps *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2015* Short Version:If you drive a regular vehicle, stay away from these unless you can solder the wires yourself.If you drive a HYBRID vehicle, these may be great.Long Version:I drive a Ford C-Max. For those who own one, you've probably had your 12V battery die on you periodically. I'll skip my theory as to why this occurs, but in any case, I've now needed to jump start my car twice in less than two years. As far as I can tell, the battery itself isn't the issue.In the case of a hybrid vehicle, like the C-Max, you don't need much current to start the car. Since the "starter motor" is powered by the high-voltage battery, you only need the 12V pack to help "wake up" the car. Once it's up and running, the high-voltage pack does the rest, while the DC-DC converter keeps the 12V battery charged.I've tried more "heavy duty" cables, but the ground stud (battery negative) on the C-Max is in a weird spot. Large battery clamps may not even fit down far enough to engage it. I decided to try these smaller cables to see how they work. In short, they work great, in terms of their size. The clamps engage both the ground stud and battery positive terminal under the hood very well. The clamps are also plenty large to engage any "regular" battery/car that may be kindly giving you a jump.My only complaint is the quality of the cable crimps. If you look at one of my uploaded photos, you'll see they folded the wire back over the insulation, then crimped the wire. That's a really poor way to crimp something! A "good" crimp will apply lots of force between the connector and cable, with direct metal contact all around. The thick insulation me relax/weaken over time, resulting in a poor connection. Poor connection = heat/fire should you draw a decent amount of current through it. For my hybrid car, this is probably adequate. For starting a typical vehicle, I would not trust that connection for the advertised 200 amp draw.It's really a shame about the poor crimps, as this could have been a 5-star product. In my case, I took the battery clamps off and actually soldered the wires. This will make a solid connection for years to come. The other plus is that they fit neatly in the lower glove compartment of my car.
