I ordered the proper filter to fit our 10"x4.5" filter system. I wasn't sure when the o-ring was last replaced and as this is the bit that prevents leaks I decided to order new o-rings as well. These were advertised as fitting the size of filter holder we have so I made the purchase. They come in sealed plastic bags and are already lubricated, nice. The fit was perfect, forming a tight seal around the canister. The fit is snug but it is easy to install the o-ring without tools, just slip it over the top of the canister and push it down. It works perfectly and has made a water-tight seal. The package includes multiple o-rings so you could change them when you change the filter. Our water company used to replace the filters twice per year and the o-rings once per year so I think I'll follow that schedule. I'll have sufficient o-rings for several years. Since they are sealed I have no qualms about keeping them around for that long.
