It looks short in the pictures but isn't in person. I thought the same thing. I love mine. **Q: What height of microwave is required for this product?** A: The steamer measures 7 inches from counter top to top of steamer. It fits perfectly in our. 8 3/4" tall microwave. **Q: Can I use the sterilizer rather than hand washing the bottles every time?** A: I tried it once just to see. The formula/milk leaves an oily film on nipples and bottles, so technically they would be sterilized (?) but still kind of dirty (?). I find its best to wash the bottles, nipples and everything and then put it into the sterilizer. I know when you're juggling babies and other things, washing and sterilizing seems like a chore, but it just seems safer doing the washing and sterilizing. **Q: Can this be used on dr Browns glass bottles?** A: Yes it can.
