I wear them for my aqua fit classes and they are flexible, yet protective. They do not add weight while in the water and are extremely light outside of the water. The shoes do not hold water but your do get water in them so they are not waterproof. I really find them easy to put on, wear and exercise in. Finally, the shoe bottoms are strong enough to walk outside on cement without falling apart.
